Kosher Certification 101: What Makes Tequila Kosher?

Here at El Sativo, we are not only dedicated to crafting exceptional tequila but also ensuring we meet the highest standards of Kosher integrity.

Primarily, Kosher certification signifies adherence to the dietary laws delineated in Jewish tradition. For tequila to earn the prestigious Kosher label, it must adhere to specific criteria throughout the entirety of the production process.

What are Kosher standards? Key principles include rules on permitted animals, a specific slaughtering process, the separation of meat and dairy, and avoiding other prohibited ingredients. Kosher certification by rabbinic authorities ensures compliance, while fruits, vegetables, and grains are generally considered Kosher.

Fortunately, there are no animal products that are used to make our tequila. The two primary ingredients are the revered Blue Weber Agave plant and volcanic rock-filtered water.

The fermentation and distillation process play an equally pivotal role. Kosher tequila must be meticulously crafted without the incorporation of any non-kosher additives or processing aids. Our tequila is fermented in only naturally occurring yeast.

In addition to meeting Kosher guidelines, El Sativo Organic Tequila is certified 100% USDA Organic, Non-GMO, and Additive-free. From the moment our Agave is lovingly harvested to the final bottling process, each step is meticulously scrutinized to ensure alignment not only with Kosher standards, but with those as well.

Perhaps the most crucial aspect of the Kosher certification is trust. When you opt for El Sativo Organic Tequila, you can indulge with confidence, secure in the knowledge that our tequila meets the loftiest standards of kosher integrity.

Whether you find yourself commemorating a momentous occasion or simply relishing the present moment, raise a glass of El Sativo Organic Tequila!
